Andy SK Lam is Baron Corporation’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. The real estate and private equity investment group has been headquartered in Hong Kong since 2002. He is an architect by training, with award-winning projects and over 33 years of extensive experience in real estate development and investment.

From 2008 through 2015, Mr Lam was also the Founder and Chairman of Shanghai Amara Equity Investment Management Limited (a Sino/UAE partnership), registered in Shanghai, China. It was the first foreign-invested private equity investment firm to register as an equity fund investment manager in Shanghai. During his tenure, he executed multi-billion-dollar investment funds with local governments in China. Baron Corporation subsequently acquired the company in 2016.

Mr Lam also founded the Group’s energy product trading business in 2005. It has since developed into a high-performance cash-flow machine through annual supply contracts with Asian clients. It provides a strong foundation for the Group’s real estate investment and acquisitions. Its United States unit, Baron Energy USA LLC, is an owner and project developer of a carbon offset forestry asset in the Mississippi River. It is a registered member of the “American Carbon Registry” and the International Standard “Verra”. It trades “Carbon Credit” to corporates in different industry sectors to offset and compensate for their carbon footprints in the marketplace.

For the past 20 years, Mr Lam has served as a board advisor to various large State-owned and privately owned conglomerates in China, including Shanghai Industrial Corporation, Beijing Dragon Life Insurance Corporation, China Infrastructure Corporation, Shanghai CNPC, and China Energy Reserves Corporation.

Mr Lam received his Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) and Bachelor of Architecture (First Class Hon. and Heywood Scholar) from the University of Manchester. He is also a graduate of the Said Business School at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, in real estate investment. Mr Lam is a Registered Architect in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom and an Authorized Person within the Hong Kong Government Registrar. He received the Hong Kong Institute of Architects – Young Architect Award in 1998.

Mr Lam is an active member of professional and community services. He has been a Fellow of the “Asian Cultural Council” since 1998 and a committee member of the “Appeal Tribunal Panel” appointed by the Hong Kong Government Development Bureau since 2015. He has also served as a board panel member of the “Professional Conduct Disciplinary Committee” of the Hong Kong Architects Registration Board since 2017.

In 2021 and 2022, the Hong Kong Government Development Bureau appointed Mr Lam as a Board panel member for the “Authorized Persons’ and Registered Structural Engineers’ Disciplinary Board” and a Board member for the “Registered Contractors Disciplinary Board”.

Gordon Wang is an Executive Director and the Chief Operating Officer of Baron Corporation. He has also been the managing director of BE Capital Limited since 2015. 

Mr Wang is responsible for the group’s overall business development, with an outstanding track record of creating novel business models in the biomedical and technology sectors, generating new business networks and revenues. 

Mr Wang has more than 25 years of experience in real estate and private investment. From 2005-2014, he served as the Director and General Manager of Nan Fung Development Limited in Hong Kong, overseeing the company’s property investments and development projects in China.

Mr Wang has an extensive network of business contacts in the financial and investment fields in China and Southeast Asia. He has served as a Board member of several major real estate development companies in China.

Mr Wang holds a Master of Science degree from Hebei University of Technology in China.

Ms Ip is an Executive Director and the Chief Investment Officer of Baron Corporation and oversees all investments for the Group. She has over 30 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. She has extensive experience in leading teams, as well as in providing wealth management services to ultra-high net worth individual investors and family offices. Ms. Ip has held leadership positions in prominent financial institutions including Deutsche Bank,  BNP Paribas Private Bank and, most notably, for 25 years with JP Morgan Private Bank.

Ms Ip has extensive experience across capital market sectors, as well as private equity funds and commodity-related investments. She holds a Master of Business Administration from The University of London.

Ms Ahmed has been the President of Baron Energy Limited since 2009. She has more than 20 years of experience with an extensive network of contacts in the energy sector.

Ms Ahmed is a veteran in international energy product trading, with successful transactions with various State-owned national petroleum corporations.

Ms Ahmed received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University in New York, United States of America.

Mr Shah is a Non-Executive Director of Baron Corporation. He has 15 years of experience in the banking and finance industry.  He had worked in several prominent financial firms such as Morgan Stanley and held various strategic positions in New York and Hong Kong.

Mr Shah has extensive experience across private equity and commodity-related investments. He has previously served as a Board Member of Horizon Petroleum & Gas Inc., a primary LPG importer & Distributor in China, and on the board of Li Rui Kai Group, an integrated marketing & merchandising company. Kabir holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a B.A. with Honours from Trinity College.
