Andy S.K. Lam is the Founder and CEO of Baron Corporation, a real estate and private equity investment group established in 2002. An architect by training with award-winning projects to his credit, he brings over 35 years of experience at the intersection of real estate development, private equity, and climate innovation. His unique design-driven perspective blends architectural vision with disciplined investment strategy.

Private Equity Innovation

From 2008 through 2015, Mr Lam served as Founder and Chairman of Shanghai Amara Equity Investment Management Limited, a Sino-UAE partnership registered in Shanghai. It was one of the first foreign-invested private equity investment firms to register as an equity fund investment manager in Shanghai. During his tenure, he structured and executed multi-billion-dollar investment vehicles with local government partners. Baron Corporation subsequently acquired the company in 2016, integrating its platform into the Group’s broader investment strategy.

Energy & Carbon Markets

Mr Lam founded the Group’s energy product trading business in 2005. It has since developed into a high-performance cash-flow generator through long-term annual supply contracts with Asian clients, providing a strong foundation for the Group’s real estate investments and acquisitions.

The Group’s United States unit, Baron Energy USA LLC, is an owner and project developer of a carbon offset forestry asset in the Mississippi River region. It is a registered member of the American Carbon Registry and Verra, trading verified carbon credits to corporations across various industry sectors to help them offset and compensate for their carbon footprints.

Today, Baron Corporation is evolving into a trusted provider of high-quality carbon removal solutions, integrating nature-based assets with proven technological approaches to help clients meet their net-zero commitments.

Real Estate Leadership

In the current market cycle, Mr Lam is actively working with major acquisition funds to identify opportunities in reviving non-performing assets and acquiring landmark projects across Hong Kong, creating long-term, value-added investment opportunities through strategic repositioning and sustainability upgrades.

For over 20 years, Mr Lam has served as a board advisor to various large State-owned and privately owned conglomerates in China, including:

Gordon Wang is an Executive Director and the Chief Operating Officer of Baron Corporation. He has also been the managing director of BE Capital Limited since 2015. 

Mr Wang is responsible for the group’s overall business development, with an outstanding track record of creating novel business models in the biomedical and technology sectors, generating new business networks and revenues. 

Mr Wang has more than 25 years of experience in real estate and private investment. From 2005-2014, he served as the Director and General Manager of Nan Fung Development Limited in Hong Kong, overseeing the company’s property investments and development projects in China.

Mr Wang has an extensive network of business contacts in the financial and investment fields in China and Southeast Asia. He has served as a Board member of several major real estate development companies in China.

Mr Wang holds a Master of Science degree from Hebei University of Technology in China.

Ms Ip is an Executive Director and the Chief Investment Officer of Baron Corporation and oversees all investments for the Group. She has over 30 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. She has extensive experience in leading teams, as well as in providing wealth management services to ultra-high net worth individual investors and family offices. Ms. Ip has held leadership positions in prominent financial institutions including Deutsche Bank,  BNP Paribas Private Bank and, most notably, for 25 years with JP Morgan Private Bank.

Ms Ip has extensive experience across capital market sectors, as well as private equity funds and commodity-related investments. She holds a Master of Business Administration from The University of London.

Ms Ahmed has been the President of Baron Energy Limited since 2009. She has more than 20 years of experience with an extensive network of contacts in the energy sector.

Ms Ahmed is a veteran in international energy product trading, with successful transactions with various State-owned national petroleum corporations.

Ms Ahmed received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University in New York, United States of America.

Mr Shah is a Non-Executive Director of Baron Corporation. He has 15 years of experience in the banking and finance industry.  He had worked in several prominent financial firms such as Morgan Stanley and held various strategic positions in New York and Hong Kong.

Mr Shah has extensive experience across private equity and commodity-related investments. He has previously served as a Board Member of Horizon Petroleum & Gas Inc., a primary LPG importer & Distributor in China, and on the board of Li Rui Kai Group, an integrated marketing & merchandising company. Kabir holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a B.A. with Honours from Trinity College.
